Engagement & Event Coordinator


A rare opportunity to join a small but busy team working to improve the student experience at SCU Lismore has opened up. We are looking for a skilled marketing and event all-rounder to join our newly renovated office in the Goodman Plaza. You must be willing to get your hands dirty helping on our weekly BBQ lunch and assisting with our printing services.



You will be co-ordinating LEXSA’s engagement initiatives, running successful events and creating compelling designs for promotional campaigns. In return you will have a level of creative freedom with marketing and event initiatives and a chance to make a difference to the student experience at SCU. This is a 2 day a week casual position to begin with.




  • Coordinate the planning, delivery and evaluation of Events and selected Projects for LEXSA

  • Source and implement new student engagement initiatives and event activities.

  • Actively develop community partnerships providing benefits to LEXSA members.

  • Develop and produce all creative for LEXSA campaigns and event promotional materials

  • Help deliver LEXSA’s printing and office services which include handling general transactions and customer service.

  • Assist with LEXSA Clubs and Societies marketing, event management and planning

  • Liaise with LEXSA Committee on programs and events and assist them with their roles.

  • Collaborate with other University departments & stakeholders on the running of University-wide events such as O-Week.

  • Work with a variety of stakeholders in the University to ensure LEXSA’s engagement and event activities run successfully within a shared space.

  • Other projects or work as directed by the LEXSA president or LEXSA Operations Manager






  • 2-3 years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

  • Experience in program, project and event coordination, implementation, delivery and evaluation with demonstrated outcomes

  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Advanced Computer skills including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Wordpress & Microsoft Office Suite.

  • A team player able to work towards shared goals

  • A proactive and positive attitude with high energy to motivate yourself and others

  • Adaptable with the ability to work in a changing environment, with a wiliness to assist in the delivery of student events

  • Some practical exposure to the tertiary education sector would be an advantage

  • Ability to work flexible hours – some evening work may be required.
