Consent Comes with Fries Activity 🍟

Last week the fries were flying as the university hosted a day dedicated to raising awareness around sexual consent, using the acronym F.R.I.E.S -

• Freely give

• Reversible

• Informed

• Enthusiastic

• Specific

LEXSA hosted an activity of word association to go along with the theme, using the letters of CONSENT to inspire students to come up with words or sentences connected to it. Here are their responses:

c = confident, chance, comfortable, care, compromise, check, confirmation, consent, consensus, communication, choice, continual

o = outcome, okay, openness, open, offer a choice, opinions, overly secure, opportunities, open-minded, (H)onesty

n = no means no!, negotiation, never be coerced, navigate, normalise, no funny business, network, nature, not on drugs, never forced!

s = self defence, say no, sympathy, safe, stay sober, stay safe, security, secure, sincere, self-respect, seeking permission first

e = express, expectations, enriching, erase disrespect, essential, expression, elaborate, expressive, empathetic, energy, evaluate choices, encouraging boundaries, enthusiastic

n = no thank you, natural, nurturing, notice, notification, networking, natural communication, neutral, nothing matters, no 'boys will be boys', never assume, not a maybe!

T = Tough, test, true, trust, truthfulness, take a close look, timing, touch me not!
