What is IDAHOBIT Day?
IDAHOBIT stands for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia. It's observed on 17th of May each year. This year it was held within our LEXSA Stress Less and we celebrated it on campus with morning tea.
International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia & Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) celebrates LGBTQIA+ people globally, and raises awareness for the work still needed to combat discrimination. 31 years ago - on May 17, 1990 - the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems.
What is a Pronoun Badge?
A pronoun button badge is a safe way to open up the conversation around your pronouns and create an inclusive space for others. Wearing a badge normalises conversations and can stop guesses and assumptions. Wear them to work, school, or an event.
We're working with the Southern Cross University Equity and Inclusion Team for this competition.
How to enter?
Share a photo of yourself in rainbow clothing or with a rainbow by emailing info@lexsa.com.au or how you support LGBTQIA+ in the registration form. All students are invited to enter!
The Important Part:
- This event is for all students.
- Since we're back on campus, students can choose whether they pick up their prize from campus or we can it post to you for free.
- Registrations close Sunday, 6th of June 2021
