To celebrate Halloween on Thursday 31st October we are giving our Members a chance to win 1 of 10 Halloween enamel ghost badges. Each badge is different and captures classic Halloween themes. Did you know that Halloween was originally known as All Hallows' Eve and was a time to remember the dead in Western Christianity, including saints (also known as hallows), martyrs and anyone of the 'faith'? There is also a suggestion that the Christians 'borrowed' the idea from the Pagan harvest festival of Samhain when big bonfires were lit, burial mounds were opened and feasts were held with offerings made to the old gods to ensure a safe passage through the coming winter months in the northern hemisphere.
